![]() The container park or yard has a ton of Scav spawns, but sometimes it can be empty. You can plan your route and go to this location wherever you spawn since it is quite close to the middle of the map. The green smoke will be the indicator if the extraction is open. It is also an extraction point for PMCs who spawn close to the Crossroads area of the map, but the extraction is not always open. The area is also one way of crossing to the other side of Customs, which makes it a dangerous place. Even player-controlled Scavs spawn here, and they all count towards Scav quests. The Old Gas Station is one of the most consistent Scav locations. PMCs frequently cross this area as well, so be careful. These Scavs spawns are consistent, and this spot is one of the prime locations for getting a few Scavs. Scavs will spawn in this extraction point after a few minutes into the raid. The RUAF Roadblock is an extraction point if you spawn at the opposite side (Military checkpoint, factories/silos, and Old Gas Station. It is good to check this area for Scavs because the location is close to other prime destinations for farming Scavs like the bus terminal, dorms, RUAF, and the construction site. The roadblock is easy to see, and you will find Scavs roaming around this area all the way to the little shop in the middle of the road. I think it would also be useful to add temperature and weather, so there was a sense of warmth or cold - even snow and ice to hamper the quests. Ideally I'd like to be able to extend buildings myself, and I'd like a progress bar for quests and for Watcher accomplishments. If I was going to suggest some improvements. The quests have been interesting, and it is a good way to relax. #The sims medieval playstation 3 plus#On the plus side - this loads much quicker than the Sims, and I've had no issues with bugs or glitches. ![]() That seems to be improving as my heros / heroines are getting a few levels up - and I would be interested to hear from anyone who has gone into double figures on the levels, to see how they are finding the gameplay. I've played it a bit more - and I do enjoy it, but the early quests did get a bit boring. She played it four times, and has now lost interest. My 10 year old daughter begged to be allowed to play. Many of the comments already made on game play are interesting. There is a reasonable amount of educational stuff in here for kids with a real sense of different foods, cooking, room and building layouts, entertainment, medical techniques and in extending vocabulary with words such as "hubris" (one of the traits). As such, I'd be inclined to think that 12 is a bit over the top. I do like the fact that the characters here get drunk and throw up - which never seems to affect my Sims in the Sims 3 (although maybe I don't let them drink enough?). There is also violence, such as fights and swordfights - although without any gore, and a reasonable amount of accessible alcohol. Your Sims can "woohoo", and have babies, which grow to be children. As someone who tends to create "perfect" people, I really liked being forced to give them a flaw. Your characters get two good traits, and must have one bad trait. ![]() You can alter your characters though, in a similar way to the Sims. Similarly, you can't build, or extend existing buildings, which was slightly disappointing. There is scope to furnish buildings, although furnishings are already provided, so there doesn't feel like "much" to do. Achieving these, or not, affects the character's mood. Added to this, your characters have daily duties to try to perform, such as using the training dummy for 2 hours (for the knight or monarch), evangelising for 2 hours (for the priest), gather leeches 3 times (physician), gather inspiration from 2 Sims (bard). ![]() There are also "Watcher" accomplishments to gather, such as gathering herbs 50 times, composing 50 poems, having each hero solving two quests, or, in my case, establishing a large kingdom with a low self esteem. The game mainly centres around choosing quests and solving them. However, you can only play one or two per quest. You start with one hero / heroine, and accumulate more. You play as the "Watcher" - a god like entity which has control over a hero or heroine. The Sims Medieval is less of a "Sims" game, and a bit more of an adventure style game. ![]() ![]()
On the bottom right of the AirDrop window is the option to discover an older Mac, which is using the previous AirDrop discovery method. ![]() Worth noting: For an iOS device to appear in this list, as well as the iOS requirements mentioned above, the iOS device needs to be unlocked. AIRPORT UTILITY FOR YOSEMITE MACYou can choose to only use AirDrop with people in your iCloud contacts, or you can allow Everyone (guest access), which will advertise your Mac with any other AirDrop device within range of your Mac. To enable AirDrop, you, therefore, have to select either ‘Contacts Only’ or ‘Everyone’: You can see the setting above for the ‘Allow me to be discovered by’ option is ‘No One’. You should then see the AirDrop discovery window:Īs you can see, the default setting for AirDrop on a 2012 and later Mac running OS X 10.10.0 or later is effectively ‘Off’. You should just need to select the ‘Go’ menu in the Finder menus at the top left of your screen and choose the AirDrop option, or select the AirDrop option in any Finder window sidebar. So, let’s now look at how AirDrop should work on a Mac running OS X 10.10.0 or later and the Mac was made in 2012 or later. If you need to check what Mac you have, select ‘About This Mac’ from the main Apple menu and it will tell you. AIRPORT UTILITY FOR YOSEMITE BLUETOOTH(Rather a long list that one.)Īlong with these above requirements, the 2 devices have to have WiFi and Bluetooth enabled for discovery and communication. To use AirDrop between 2 Macs: They both need to be a Mid 2010 or newer Mac Mini, an early 2009 iMac or newer, a late 2008 or newer MacBook, a Late 2010 or newer MacBook Air, a Late 2008 or newer MacBook Pro, or Early 2009 with AirPort Extreme Card or Mid 2010 or newer Mac Pro.The Mac has to be running OS X 10.10.0 or later and needs to be a 2012 or newer Mac Mini, iMac, MacBook Air or MacBook Pro, or a Late 2013 Mac Pro. ![]() To use AirDrop between 1 iOS device and 1 Mac: The iOS device has to be running iOS 8.0 or later and use a Lightning connector. To use AirDrop between 2 iOS devices: Requires at least iOS 7 and have a Lightning connector. AIRPORT UTILITY FOR YOSEMITE SOFTWAREIf AirDrop is listed, you can do AirDrop! If not, then your Mac doesn’t support it.ĪirDrop requires specific software and hardware to function. Then select the ‘Go’ menu in the Finder menus at the top left of your screen and look for the AirDrop option: Go to the Finder by clicking anywhere on the Desktop or by selecting the Finder icon in the far left of the Dock at the bottom of your screen. So in this blog I have written about my findings and what I’ve tried to make it work better.įirstly, make sure your Mac works with AirDrop (always a good start!) Cool huh?Īs cool as AirDrop is, many Yosemite users using a Mac made in 2012 and later, (myself included) seem to be having some difficulty discovering other AirDrop devices. So for any situation where there is no WiFi available, you can still transfer files between 2 Macs wirelessly with minimal setup. Well, it creates a direct wireless connection between your 2 Macs WITHOUT the need for an existing WiFi network. The cool thing with OS X Yosemite (along with iOS 8), is that you can still quickly transfer files between your Mac and another nearby Mac or 2 iOS devices, but you can also now transfer files between your Mac and any iOS 8 device! When AirDrop was first released, you could share files between 2 Macs or between 2 devices running iOS (such as an iPhone and an iPad). ![]() Since Apple made some hardware and software changes over the past couple of years, sometimes AirDrop discovery and file sharing is not as easy as it can be. For today’s blog I thought I would mention some options to get the best out of AirDrop file sharing. ![]() ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() They can only swim, fish and carve wooden objects better than default, and have plenty of important maluses. which is sadly useless (maybe for some quests? not sure). Islanders are the best weather predictors. They might make for interesting atypical characters. Most other tribes have maluses there, or at best a zero. Driik seem very "poor", but they have the best sword, shield and crossbow bonuses. They make fun (and reality-appropriate) seal-hunters if you don't go the easy way (eg, traps): sneak up, throw your javelin/spear and club to death. They are the best spear-users, club-users, fishers and "shamans". Seal tribes are not as bad as you would think from their -4.This is your bow-sniper character, able to track down quickly the prey, kill it and produce high-quality hides, as well as identify useful herbs. Owls have many maluses (which reduces their versatility in using multiple weapons and wood/construction stuff, but also fishing), but are probably the best active hunters (Kaumo is easier to play overall but takes more grinding to raise some important skills).Good choice for beginners, especially if the right tribe is chosen for a specific play style (eg, choose Sarto for agriculture-related characters, Kaumo for warriors and active hunters, Reemi for trappers and Kiesse for the prototypical woodsman.) ![]() Reemi, Sarto, Kaumo and Kiesse are quite versatile tribes, with bonuses far outweighing the maluses. This should help any beginner looking to make things smoother for themselves. Here is a short commentary/guide to the starting cultures, based on the simple analysis of the starting skill bonuses/maluses. ![]() ![]() ![]() I only really need to grab like 20GB of files off it as the rest I have elsewhere. It's a 4TB drive and calculating how long it would take to search all the cylinders I could be running that test for a week or more. I actually tried using the Geometry menu and put in the values written on the drive but this did not work, in fact when using these setting testdisk indicated that there were no partitions at all and the drive capacity was 8.5MB (at least with the wrong geometry it got the disk capacity right) when in fact it is 40 GB so am a little bit reluctant to use these settings. Thing is when I try to use Testdisk to find the section that has all my files on it so I can write to it, it is just going way too slow to even get to that part. When you receive too much read errors you should consider to clone your disk. ![]() In case, I don't recommend to recover the partition but when testdisk lists your files you can copy them off of your disk to another healthy disk or partition. Save as 'dmesg > /tmp/dmesg.txt' and attach as plain text file. If booting Linux 'dmesg' may hold interesting information. Both things, impatience and slowness, are worrying. Testdisk read error every cylinder trial#Using the trial of EaseUS I can actually see all the files on the drive, so the files are there. Testdisk can list data, even if the file system is damaged. Also you should run as 'testdisk /debug /log' as the log file may hold details to read and attach to your reply as plain text file. I've downloaded Seagate's diagnostic program, 'SeaTools', which sees the drive, but tests that can be performed all fail. CrystalDiskInfo doesn't see the drive (it shows only my main hard disk). It shows as a raw drive that has an allocated letter, but it won't load and just wants me to format it. TestDisk still report read errors for every cylinder analyzed although the operation goes much faster (got to cylinder 475 in a couple of minutes). In doing so, cutting power corrupted the boot sector of the drive. I sadly had a pci usb expansion card give out on me whilst transferring a file to a hard drive connected to a hard drive dock. ![]() ![]()
